Description of the organisation

 

SOS Children’s Villages is a public benefit organisation committed to helping abandoned and orphaned children as well as children from dysfunctional families. The association is present in 132 countries worldwide, including Poland since 1984. In Poland, there are four SOS Children’s Villages. These are located in Biłgoraj, Kraśnik, Siedlce and Karlino. All of the villages look after 440 children and teenagers. Each such village consists of 14 family houses lived in by foster parents and 6-8 children. They go to a local state school and live in the same communities as children from normal families. The association’s goal is to help these children and teenagers to stand on their own feet and to prepare them to cope in everyday life once they leave the village.

Invest in the Future of Children

Taking into account the benefits of saving money and the fact that Open Finance actively promotes the culture of saving and long-term financial planning, the company is engaged in charitable activities supporting the financial needs of children most in need of such support. Selected by their leaders, children between the ages of 8 and 10 years and living in the SOS Children’s Villages receive Open Finance’s support in the form of an investment fund account. They will have the right to control the money once they reach the age of 21 years. The money deposited in the account will give the children living in the SOS Children’s Villages an easier and safer start in life.

My Own HOME

Getin Bank and the SOS Children’s Villages Association work to help children living in foster families to start their adult lives with a place on their own. One of the leaders in the mortgage loan market, Getin Bank donates part of its income to pay for a new flat for a child living in a foster family in an SOS Children’s Village every time the bank’s mortgage loan portfolio exceeds another billion zlotys. The flats bought by Getin Bank comply with the standards of the SOS Children’s Villages housing programme.

Make a Gift

Anyone who would like to help a charity or otherwise support those most in need but doesn’t know how to do it or is simply short of time can now join charitable campaigns and events run by Noble Concierge and the SOS Children’s Villages. During charity campaigns, e.g. special packages on various occasions such as Christmas, Happy Holidays for Children, New School Year etc., Noble Concierge also collects daily use articles among its customers, as well as partners and employees of the Noble Bank Group. The articles are donated to the SOS Children’s Villages. During the last such event, at Christmas time, 2009, Noble Concierge supported the children living in the SOS village in Kraśnik with articles such as audio and video equipment, household appliances, books and toys.

Pay by Card & Help Children

Noble Bank customers who pay for their shopping using their Infinity credit cards automatically support children living in the SOS Children’ Villages. For any such payment by the bank’s customers, Noble Bank donates part of its income from credit cards to the SOS Children’s Villages Association. Depending on the children’s needs, the money is used to help pay for the most essential products, to support educational activities, to pay for Christmas packages, holiday stays, books or school equipment for pupils.
